Jamaica Part I

If you didn't know, after a very hard year, I felt I deserved a vacation and it might have been one of the best things I've ever done for myself!  So to start this year off right, on January 2nd I flew all the way to the Caribbean and landed on the island of Jamaica!  It was incredible!  So beautiful there and what I needed most was a little of Bob Marley's wisdom, "Don't worry 'bout a thing.  Every little thing is gonna be alright!" 

Okay, so there are too many pictures to put all on one post, so I'm splitting it up!

This first part will be about traveling and the first official day!

So here we are in the SLC airport.  There was some bad planning on our part,  so we ended up at the airport only 3 hours early, not bad until you realize our flight left at 5:15!  So needless to say, we were exhausted and cranky!

 But we did finally make it to Jamaica and caught a bus to the next city over.

 We finally made it to the great city of Port Antonio about 8 o'clock that night.  We met up with Cris and Claire who had already been in Jamaica for a week and they took us out to try our first Jamaican food, Jerk Chicken.  It is pretty much barbequed chicken with a little bit of a kick!  It was sure a welcome sight after a long day of travel.  Then off to bed, which ended the first day.

 The next day we were up and away to the beach.  Please meet Cris and Claire!   They are awesome!  We had so much fun with them. 

 So we had heard about this beach, that it was really pretty.  I was excited and then I saw a review that said something like this, "It was so beautiful and natural.  My husband and I felt like we were Adam and Eve."  My interest was definitely piqued! 

But then there was this sign and I was a little disappointed! ; )

So this is Frenchman's Cove.  It was so beautiful!  Off there to the left was a fresh water pond.  It was so calm and the water was nice and warm.  A-MAZ-ING

This is a leaf, but I thought it looked like a flexing frog!  Also, its just pretty!

That, my friends, is a very nice Jamaican flag beach towel!  It served me well! :)
